We recommend you get your paws on these, stat.

Psst… we have a few beauty secrets to share. You might want to clear some space on your shelf for these not sponsored, just good products.

At Body+Soul we have the pleasure and challenge of testing a huge amount of beauty products, some good and some bad. In this series, we’ll be rounding up the products that gave us that twinkle in the eye each month, including our take on the latest releases from your favourite brands. Completely unsponsored, these are the products that are just *good*.

I’ve always been a fan of a fat brush when it comes to mascara, but thanks to a few too many back-to-back lash lifts (just me? no?), I’d had to swap my usual high-end mascara for one with ‘lash boosting’ ingredients. But honestly? I hated using it as my lashes looked limp and gloopy (though, they did stop breaking off). When this serum-infused baby landed on my desk I felt all my prayers had been answered: the *chef’s kiss* applicator and consistency of Lancome’s cult Hypnose mascara, but with 8 revitalising amino acids and Shea butter - that apparently helps to build stronger fuller lashes in four weeks. It’s only been two, but I’m already hooked.

I made the risky decision to take a never-before-used cleanser away with me to Europe and, forget gorgeous Italian men, I came back besotted with this cleanser. It’s got all the good stuff - Aloe, Green Tea, Vitamin C and E, B5 and low-level AHA’s like citric acid.

I do like to remove heavy makeup before I use it (with micellar water or a cleansing balm) and use it as the second cleanse. It leaves the skin feeling fresh, so glowy, and it cleared up my pre-Europe hormonal breakout (thank god). It’s hard to put into words, but this cleanser has changed the texture of my skin, making pores look smaller, skin smoother and more radiant. I will be repurchasing again, and again. Absolute gold.

I’ve never been one for soap bars (they give me flashbacks of tight, dry skin and usually have a clinical, sterile scent), but in the name of sustainability, I was willing to give this eco-friendly, plastic-free body bar a go. And it exceeded expectations.

Infused with illipe seed butter, shea butter, coconut oil and jojoba seed oil (not to mention exfoliating orange peel and calendula petals), it forms a rich, indulgent lather and leaves my skin feeling smooth, not taught. The citrus fragrance is the perfect way to start the day – not to mention 50 per cent of proceeds go towards clean drinking water initiatives.

I’m a sucker for a creamy concealer, as dark circles are (unfortunately) my bag - or rather, bags - as there are two of them.

When it comes to concealer, this one is perhaps the GOAT. I shouldn’t be surprised, the queen of flawless complexion Charlotte Tilbury is responsible for this new release, but this hydrating concealer blends easily thanks to hyaluronic acid, and magically never seems to get cakey or too powdery.

It’s also waterproof (this claim I have not yet tested) and gives up to 16 hours of cover (a claim that I can vouch for). If you’re in the market for something to brighten your face but is a cinch to apply - I’d highly recommend giving this one a whirl.

When I love a fragrance, I love it forever, and Paco Rabanne’s newest release Fame is no exception. Flirty and floral, sweet yet not saccharine, this eau de parfum has notes of mango, jasmine and incense, and is punchy in just the right way.

As is a trademark of Paco Rabanne’s scents, the bottle is as eye-catching as the scent is an olfactory delight. The best bit? The brand now stocks refills so you can keep the decorative vessel on your mantle forever. This is my pick of feminine fragrances this summer.

I love Mecca as much as the next person, but there is still a thrill to finding a new beauty obsession in the aisles of Woolies. This creamy contour is quite similar to a much exxier version - the brand name I won’t divulge here - but this squeezable tube delivers the same easy-to-blend consistency and convincingly shadow-like contour that makes you look like you have Bella Hadid’s cheekbones.

My only recommendation is to go for the medium/dark hue as it’s got a less lot orange in it than the lighter version - which I think gives a more natural look.

In recent years I’ve simplified my skincare routine, mostly removing toners, but this one is fabulous enough to change my mind. The acid-free formula uses special ingredients such as exfolactive™ to gently exfoliate without overdoing it. It leaves the skin feeling radiant and clear, yet still nourished. I’ve been using this toner along with her serum, magic cream and face oil and it’s safe to say that Charlotte Tilbury is the GOAT in all things, including her skincare range.

Having coloured hair is basically a full-time job, what with keeping your regrowth in check and hoping your hair doesn’t descend into a mass of split ends. My current solution for both problems is Davines’ Heart of Glass Sheer Glaze: a leave-in thermal treatment fluid that makes your blonde look brighter, and reinvigorates your hair from root to tip.

Thanks to a patented ‘fortifying botanical shield,’ it gives hair an enviable shine and shelters it from heat damage, be it from a hair dryer, styling wands, or the sun.

This lip crayon from Lük Beautifood has been a welcome addition to my handbag this month. I love that it’s made of compostable materials and from sustainably grown wood. It’s highly pigmented, goes on smooth and gives me a subtle touch of colour. Enriched with coconut oil and plant waxes, it keeps my lips hydrated and smooth. I often finish with a clear lip balm for added shine, and I love that it can double as an eyeshadow or blush in a pinch.

I LOVE this product. Having never been one for fake tan, I’m used to descending into a pasty wasteland each winter. Not anymore. FreezeFrame’s Body Blur acts like a foundation for your body, literally blurring pores and giving your skin a radiant glow to boot. I like using it on my arms when I’m wearing a top without sleeves, and have found it easy to apply and blend, removing the risk of any pesky tide marks.
