Tholen - Tea Bar has developed plastic-free stand-up pouches for their tea.The new packaging is made of paper with a water-based heat-sealable coating."For years we wanted packaging that could be recycled with waste paper, made of FSC paper. We also went for 100% certified plastic-free and we did not want cellulose film with PVDC coating on the inside. It also had to be biodegradable and be printed with water-based ink. In addition, the packaging had to be suitable for Tea Bar's most flavored teas, by means of a high barrier," says Fenje Bolt who founded Tea Bar together with Sara Verver.In consultation with Jörgen Jonker from Convex Europe, they arrived at the EarthPouch."Tea Bar is the first in the Netherlands to use this method of packaging for tea. By highlighting the EarthPouch together, we hope that more entrepreneurs will dare to make this sustainable choice for their business.
