FamilyMart collaborates with 450-year-old teahouse for Uji matcha green tea frappe

The drink comprises a matcha mix made from high-quality leaves meticulously picked by Kanbayashi Shunsho from Kyoto and Mie Prefecture

FamilyMart has teamed up with Kanbayashi Shunsho, a tea purveyor with 450 years of history, to release a luxurious matcha frappe bursting with Uji matcha.

Based on a survey that showed matcha was the most desired flavor by Family Mart consumers, the convenience shop created the Uji Matcha Frappe Presented by Kanbayashi Shunsho Honten.

It comprises a matcha mix made from high-quality leaves meticulously picked by Kanbayashi Shunsho from Kyoto and Mie Prefecture. The mild milk flavor balances out the matcha's typical bitterness, and the ice is carefully mixed to produce this refreshing summer delight.

This beverage is currently available for purchase at FamilyMart locations around Japan for 320 yen.
