London’s grandest hotels are celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with an array of indulgent offerings. Not only marking this milestone over the Jubilee weekend, these landmark hotels are hosting specially curated experiences all summer long.

Jubilee inspired decor at Shangri-La The Shard, London.

Shangri-La’s landmark Shard hotel has undertaken a transformation ahead of Jubilee weekend with features, running until September, created in collaboration with McQueens Flowers including a four-meter-tall sculpture paying homage to the Queen’s stamp motif and other installations including a contemporary photographic exhibition of the Queen and Royal Household by royal photographer Hugo Rittson-Thomas.

The new Skyline Jubilee Afternoon Tea is being served in collaboration with renowned English sparkling wine producer Nyetimber within a space that’s been transformed into an English garden at TĪNG Lounge with highlights including a chocolate and raspberry Shard-inspired dessert.

The highest hotel bar in Western Europe, GŎNG, is then serving the Jubilee Cocktail offering an Asian-inspired reinterpretation of the Queen’s drink of choice, the Dubonnet. Guests of the hotel can book the two-night Shangri-La Jubilee Celebration stay including access to tours offered through the hotel’s new partnership with Historic Royal Palaces, a Jubilee cocktail and limited-edition packet of seeds created by the team behind the Tower of London’s Jubilee Superbloom display, which the hotel overlooks.

Also referencing the Superbloom wildflower installation taking over the moat at the Tower of London, which this hotel neighbors, Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square is offering a new Superbloom Afternoon Tea between the beginning of June and mid-September in its central Rotunda Bar and Lounge.

This specially curated afternoon tea comprises savory and sweet culinary creations that take inspiration from the royal family and celebrations held in honor of the Platinum Jubilee, including executive pastry chef Sylvain Goujon’s selection of pastries reminiscent of a flowerbed in bloom and the central Crown dessert featuring a base of yuzu sponge and green shiso cream topped with a British strawberry confit and intricately crafted yuzu chocolate crown.

Adding to this, the hotel’s head bartender Ayoub Radi has created a Wild Garden cocktail combining gin, Jasmine tea, St Germain and Lavanda.

Throughout the summer months, Conrad London St. James is taking part in the Jubilee celebrations by offering the new RoyalTea designed by the award-winning chef Sally Abé. The chef’s first-ever afternoon tea menu, the RoyalTea, which will be served in the hotel’s Orchard lounge, takes inspiration from the hotel itself – being an historic 19th century building that was once Queen Anne’s Chamber – along with its location in Westminster and proximity to Buckingham Palace.

Combining this inspiration with references to the history of the traditional British high tea and its royal connections, and tying in with the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, this afternoon tea menu brings together sweet treats, using ingredients of suppliers that have their own Royal Warrants, such as the chef’s take on the Queen’s favorite chocolate biscuit.

These sweet and savory bites are paired with any of the 21 small-batch teas offered by Lalani & Co or a glass of Champagne Bollinger, which has held a Royal Warrant since it was first given the honor by Queen Victoria in 1884.

Taking pride in its status as the only hotel to have been granted a Royal Warrant by Her Majesty the Queen, and the closest hotel to Buckingham Palace, The Goring is commemorating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a sequence of celebratory experiences including a Jubilee-inspired afternoon tea, specially created cocktails, Coronation-inspired dishes and a stay encapsulating it all.

Historic Coronation dishes using high-quality British ingredients have been introduced to the Linley-designed Dining Room following the discovery of the menu that The Goring created for the Queen’s Coronation in 1953, the hotel’s Jubilee Afternoon Tea referencing British favorites and royal milestones is now served in The Veranda’s garden-view pavilion and The Goring Cocktail Bar is marking the occasion by offering its new royal-inspired Jubilee Fizz and Coronation Cup cocktails.

The two-night Goring Jubilee Stay brings all of this and more together, with the option to also stay in the hotel’s Royal Suite.

The address once home to Queen Elizabeth II, The InterContinental London Park Lane is then marking the Jubilee with the creation of a thoughtfully curated Platinum Jubilee Tea for guests of the hotel’s Wellington Lounge, which overlooks Buckingham Palace Gardens, or Number One Park Lane Terrace.

The quintessentially English afternoon tea comprises a range of finger sandwiches, handmade scones, cakes and pastries that are all based on traditional recipes and made using the very best British produce.

Highlights of this new tea range from smoked rainbow trout pâté and Oscietra caviar on heirloom beetroot bread and sandwiches of slow-roasted venison, wild truffle, mushroom chutney and creamed horseradish – with vegetarian options also made to reflect the tea’s royal inspiration – to delicate cakes including the Queen’s favourite chocolate biscuit cake.
