Rubber ducky, you're the one. 🐥

Relive those childhood memories of playing with a rubber duck as a kid, except now you can eat it.

You can enjoy a tasty madeleine cake shaped like a cute duck with your bubble tea from Okey-Dokey Tea House.

They have a detailed bubble tea menu with flavours ranging from purple sweet potato and taro paste to their signature drink, brulee milk tea with toast black sugar.

Unlike other bubble tea locations, you can get a freshly baked piece of cake on top of your bubble tea selection. It's shaped like a cute rubber duck and is available in two flavours, madeleine and rich vanilla.

Address: 507 Rideau St., Ottawa, ON

Why You Need To Go: They offer classic bubble tea flavours with fresh fruit and ingredients, along with fun cake toppers that are shaped like rubber ducks, and you can get them delivered to your home.

Nobody ever wants to be on campus unless they have to. It's basically an unspoken rule. Even though classes don't have as much work right now (unless you're a science student... your loss), libraries and work areas are already starting to fill up with loud first years who just want to find friendships that last longer than frosh week, squads of people who take up entire library floors to discuss what's on Twitter, and the occasional one in every fourteenth person who really wants to try (probably by reading the syllabus in extreme detail). But no shade to any of them - it's hard to work at school. I get it.

So if you're like me and would rather spend all day at the sketchy McDonalds on Rideau Street than be at school during your long breaks, I got you. Here's a list of 9 Ottawa spots with free-wifi (and caffeine, obviously), perfect to get your workflow on.

Okay I know this one is kind of obvious, but if you're hopelessly looking for some serious quiet and extreme focus - why would you go anywhere else? All OPL locations have free wifi, so whether you're in need of a study spot close to home, close to work, or close to school, this may just be your go-to place for whatever cramming you need done. No excuses.

Yes, any public facility. Another obvious one, I know. If you didn't know, the city just partnered up with IceNet Wireless, an Ottawa-based wireless internet company for free wifi access at 24 different city facilities. This one's especially for those of you who live in the middle of nowhere (honestly I don't even know where Goulbourn Recreation Complex is) and have shaky internet at home - go get shit done.

I'm not even going to bring up any Starbucks, Bridgehead, or Second Cup - let's talk about real cafes. The Ministry of Coffee is one of the nicest (and definitely Instagram-worthy) coffee shops in Ottawa with the perfect atmosphere for a solo study sesh. Do yourself a favour and order the Nutella latte. Thank me later.

Let's give Aroma's first Ottawa location a warm welcome. We've needed you for so long. While this isn't my favourite place for coffee itself, Aroma has a great selection of different sandwiches, snacks, and unique drinks. There's free wifi and plenty of tables, making it the perfect space for everything from working on group projects with your classmates to finishing that assignment you promised yourself you'd get done yesterday.

Meet your new favourite outdoor study spot (when there's no concerts, festivals, or pre-Canada Day shutdown happening). If you're looking for a place to enjoy whatever's left of the nice weather before Ottawa starts looking like Christmas in October, Major's Hill offers up a mini oasis in the middle of busy downtown with 24 hour free wifi and a great view.

Need to squeeze in a cram session before your 9AM exam? Where else but Morning Owl. With 6 locations across the city, all of which open by 7:30 AM, Morning Owl has a variety of drinks made with organic, direct trade sources, in-house food items, and free wifi. One of my favourite places to grab a latte.

Don't get distracted by iconic coffee sign, you're here to work. Equator Coffee is Ottawa-famous for a reason - there's great coffee, the atmosphere gives off an indie vibe without trying too hard, and it's fair trade. A definite must-visit.

That cute little local coffee shop you never discovered. Bluebird is a micro roaster tucked away in the Byward Market - a quiet, small space with fast wifi. Perfect for exam season.
